Friendly disclosure: I am part of the Amazon affiliates program. That means at no extra cost to you, I earn a (very) small commission if you buy anything I link from the Amazon site.

In addition to this free printable homeschool planner, a few other things have helped our days run smoothly.

I think one of the greatest battles of homeschooling is that the level of organization in our home depends on us. Freedom is like a double-edged sword. It’s great on one hand, but it also requires a lot of careful planning on the other.

That’s why I’ve found it vital to have my kids be accountable for their tasks through their own daily chore lists.

Managing my homemaking tasks with easy weekly meals for our family has also been incredibly important.

As a Christian, it’s also been so important that I continue to make time for God’s Word and my own personal bible study. That’s why I’ve created the verses for motherhood series, to encourage moms in similar positions.

What’s Included in this Free Printable Homeschool Planner

Inside this printable homeschool planner, you’ll find pages that encompass an entire year’s worth of planning. You can print them all or just select the ones that work for your family.

Inside this Homeschool Planner PDF, you’ll find:

  • Our Daily Rhythm: Use this page to map out what your day generally includes. Plan your family’s rhythm for a “normal” day. I like to map out a balance of chores, meals, breaks, creative time, outdoor play, and learning blocks. While we don’t follow a strict schedule every day, a general rhythm helps the kids know what to expect most days.
  • Our Weekly Routine: Much like the daily rhythm, the weekly routine is for your typical week plans. Write down the major things that will generally be the same each week. For example, church days, co-op, extra-curriculars, or even rotating subjects.
  • Our Year at a Glance: This is where you can plan out your months in a very high-level way. Focus on the major subjects you plan to cover each month.
  • Individual Month Planner (one for each month): This is where you can get into your nitty-gritty planning. How many lessons do you plan to get through each month? What pages will you be covering in your curriculum books? What other books do you plan to read? What projects do you want to do? Write all those details down here.
  • Individual Week Planner (one for each week): I like to fill this in on Sunday or Monday each week. This is where I write our specific plans for the week so we can have a detailed schedule to follow. It helps the kids know what to expect and helps me plan each day accordingly.

Storage suggestions:

  1. HOLE PUNCH IT ALL: If you want it to work like a traditional store-bought planner, just hole punch all the pages and store them in a binder. It’s organized in such a way that you’ll be able to use it all year long – one page to the next.
  2. THE EMILY METHOD: I stored my pages a little bit differently. I laminated Our Daily Rhythm and Our Weekly Routine and hung them up in our homeschool room. That way, we can quickly use it as a reference every day. Then the rest of the pages I hole punched and stored in a binder. I do occasionally pull the individual week pages out so we can reference them more readily at our homeschool table.
