Here is my list of the best dairy free ice cream brands and products. I’ll be sharing my favorite dairy free ice cream brands as well as some specific products you need to try!
This is the updated 2026 List – I went through and removed products that are no longer around and added some new dairy free ice cream products that you need to try!
With Summer fast approaching, we need to talk about the best dairy free ice cream options out there. Just because you’re dairy free does not mean you have to miss out on delicious ice cream!
As we approach Summer, it’s time for light and healthy Summer meals, fresh desserts, S’mores, and of course, ice cream.
I’ve spent a lot of my life eating dairy free. I’ve also been able to eat regular ice cream. Which gives me a pretty good gauge of what the best dairy free ice cream is, because I have real ice cream to compare it to.
Dairy Free ice cream has come a VERY long way over the last few years. Considering I grew up eating lemon ice or Rice Dream, yeah, we’re pretty blessed with all the new dairy free ice cream brands.
Whether you’re new to the dairy free ice cream game or are just trying to find the best tasting dairy free ice cream, hopefully, my list can help you pick out some great products to try.

While I will share what their website says about where to find dairy free ice cream, always check your local stores to confirm they carry it. Also, I’m mostly going to share big country-wide stores, but I know some of these brands do show up in smaller local grocers.

Is Dairy Free Ice Cream Vegan?
If we’re strictly considering ingredients, most dairy free ice cream is also vegan. Since each of these dairy free ice cream products are free of cow’s milk, you’ll find most of them also to be vegan.
The only ingredient to watch out for in these products is honey – Van Leeuwen in particular uses a lot of honeycomb in these products. Since honey is a product made by animals, some vegans choose to avoid it. While others don’t mind, as it doesn’t harm the bee to retrieve the honey. What do you think? Are you a honey or no-honey vegan?
Since veganism is a lifestyle choice rather than a dietary preference, you may want to consider your personal beliefs. I’m not vegan, so I can’t really weigh in on this topic. A lot of these companies also make ice cream with dairy. As a vegan, if that bothers you, you may want to stick with companies that only make dairy free ice cream (like So Delicious). The Best Dairy Free Ice Cream as of 2026
This is my 2026 list of the best dairy free ice cream. I’m excited for you to find the best tasting dairy free ice cream that I’ve found. This list is in no particular order – so have fun scrolling through and finding your new favorite dairy free treat!

Jonnypops
My favorite Jonnypops is the Frozen Pops Rainbow Fruit Stacks. They have such a refreshing fruity flavor. They remind me of the pops you’d get from an ice cream truck, but no junk or dairy in them.
Ben & Jerry’s
Ben & Jerry’s has a great line of dairy free ice cream pints. Adding them to the list of best dairy free ice creams of 2026 was a no-brainer. My favorite is the Phish Food, the dairy free chocolate chunks are so good. They continue to add more delicious dairy free flavors to their product line. So Delicious
So Delicious is a great product line, especially if cross-contamination is a concern. They only make dairy free products. I love their new wonder milk dairy free ice cream line, it’s one of the best tasting dairy free ice creams I’ve had in a while.
365 by Whole Foods
I love it when store brands make dairy free products, as they’re usually cheaper. The 365 by Whole Foods dairy free ice cream options are so delicious and have a much better price tag than some of the name brands.
Van Leeuwen
Van Leeuwen is a decadent and noteworthy ice cream brand. They have one of the best tasting dairy free ice creams I’ve had. I love their unique flavors. I especially love their ice cream bar line (the type that are on a stick coated in crunchy, delicious chocolate – so good!).
Kind Frozen Bars
Kind Frozen Bars remind me of a frozen Snickers ice cream bar. The peanut butter one is so good, I can’t even buy them too often because I eat them all within a couple of days!
Bettergoods (Walmart Brand)
As an unashamed Walmart mom, I love that they’ve come out with a “healthier” store brand. The Bettergood line has some delicious and relatively inexpensive dairy free ice creams. These inexpensive and tasty pints deserve a spot on the best dairy free ice cream list of 2026.
Trader Joe’s Oat Milk Ice Cream
Trader Joe’s has a few different dairy free ice cream options. I personally love their dairy free strawberry ice cream. It’s creamy, sweet, and so delicious.
Coconut Bliss
Coconut Bliss is one of my first loves when it comes to finding the best tasting dairy free ice cream. They have a unique flavor that I love. The coconut does come through in all their flavors, but as a coconut fan, I enjoy that. I also find they aren’t deathly sweet like some other dairy free ice creams, and again, that’s a big win for me.

Hi Emily ( 👋 🤗) I love Cado ice cream!!! I am allergic to peas (pea protein is everywhere vegan), potatoes (potato starch is also very common) & oats, so finding dairy free / vegan alternatives is quite tricky for me. But avocado-based Cado is so rich and creamy without additives to make it bind together, and tastes clean & simple because it is.
Wow yes, avoiding those things would be challenging while also trying to remain dairy free. That’s great that there’s still a tasty option though! I have yet to try that one, but I’ve heard great things! I’ll have to try it soon. Thank you for taking the time to share your favorite :)
