1. John 3:16 – “For God so Loved the world”
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 NKJV
The memory verse of all memory verses. A perfect summation of the gospel. I love this verse for kids as well as adults because it’s one of the most important truths of God’s Word. It reminds us why Jesus died on the cross and explains how we come to salvation through Him. It also points forward to the gift of everlasting life that we receive in Christ. What a blessing this truth is and what a good thing to remind your kiddos.
2. John 15:12 “love one another”
“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.“
John 14:12 NKJV
Love doesn’t come easy to any of us. Especially loving as Jesus loves. But if we engrain this verse in our heart in those tough moments of anger the Holy Spirit will bring it to my mind. There’s no better time to remember this commandment than as a young child. Discuss what Jesus’ love looks like with them. If you’ve already gone over John 3:16 remind them of that as you discuss this verse. And remember to point them to these verses when those sibling rivalries break out or their listening ears get lost. God’s Word can move mountains even for a crazy toddler.
3. Psalm 118:24 – “This is the Day the Lord has made”
“This is the day the Lord has made;
Psalm 118:24 NJKV
We will rejoice and be glad in it.“
Psalm 118:24 is just a beautiful reminder for those grumpy days. We can rejoice in all things because our God is in control. He made this day and come what may we can rejoice knowing our loving God is in charge. Especially as your kids get older, reminding them to focus on the goodness of God and rejoicing in all things is so important. It will help them have the right perspective in life. Remember to use the free printable bible coloring pages with scriptures including in this blog to help them focus on and remember these verses.
4. Romans 1:17 “The Just Shall Live by Faith”
“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.‘”
Romans 1:17 NKJV
This verse is perfect to spark a discussion of faith. Let them color the words and remember this truth as they use the free printable coloring pages with this verse. When trials come, instead of relying on their own emotions and self, they’ll put their faith in Jesus. It’s so important to raise our kiddos to live by faith.
